Rental Agreement - Two seperate tenants - one requesting to sever the lease

My roomate and I had a 6 month lease here in Calf. that was fulfilled. I gave 30 day notice and the landlord will not recognize that I have ended my lease. I had a roomate and she has continued the lease on a month to month basis with the landlord and a new roommate. The landlord refuses to make them sign a new lease, or to relinquish my liability or security deposit.

If the lease has expired by the passing of 6 months and it was not renewed by you then there would be no liability to you after you moved out. you will need to go to small claims court to get your deposit back. if they dont return your deposit with an accounting after 2 weeks from when you vacate you can also ask the court to award you an extra $200 penalty.
