Re: Rental laws

The responsibilities are substantial, and depend in large degree upon the nature of the property and the purpose of the rental. Residential tenants have more rights than commercial tenants, for example.

Anyone starting out as a landlord should buy and read one or two self-help books covering the field, and it is a very sound idea to talk with professionals in the legal, real estate, insurance and tax-planning/CPA fields before venturing into landlording.
