renters rights after an evicition notice
I am a disabled veteran. Our landlady gave us a thirty day notice to leave after accepting our check for that month. we also have areceipt showing that we paid first months rent, last months rent and a deposit. How can she take double payment and still give us a thirty day notice?

Unless she refunds the extra month's rent, you may have the right to stay an additional month. You should so inform her in writing. Then see a local real-estate attorney.
