Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Renters rights on sale of home

The home we rent is up for sale, what are our rights as a tenant,, do we get a reduction on rent, do the realtors have to give us 24 hr. notice before entering, can they enter our home if we're not home, if we don't want them to. if we don't want the lockbox on, can we refuse it. after sale of home, do we get a 30 day notice, The agent that has the house listed, is very untrustworthy, each time we ask questions, he trys to wiggle out by he has to go, or another call is coming in... I'm disabled and don't have the money to just move on the spot. Is there government grants to help me buy a home..Called several people and they don't seem to want to help.

Re: Renters rights on sale of home

you do not have to let anyone in without the 24 hours notice. if you are on a lease the new owner must honor the lease. if you are month to month the new owner needs to give 30 days notice to get you out.
