I am renting a house from my landlord and the bank came by and said the house is being foreclosed, he told me that he is still working things out with the bank. do i still have to pay rent if it is being forecloed

Yes. As long as you are a tenant, you are required to pay rent. Keep a copy of your rent check, though, in case the foreclosing bank should come asking about whether you've paid rent. Also, keep a copy of your rental agreement, if any.
