Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

What are my rights when my roommate breaks lease?

My roommate has said that he is thinking of breaking

our lease. What rights to i have? i know that he is

legally obligated through the end of our lease, but

are there any other rights? What if he stiffs us and

we have to move suddenly? i have no clue about any

rights my wife and i have, so any information would be

appreciated. Thanks a lot!

if any of you breaks the lease the landlord can go after whoever he wants (ie you) and you will have to sue the roomate yourself.
