Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Help with roomate who threatned me

I live in an apartment and am the only one on my contract. I allowed my friend to come to my house because the police department called me and asked me if she could stay a few nights with me. she has not paid any rent, has on 3 occasions attempted suicide in my home and now has threatned me via telephone that she is gonna physically hurt me. i told her 2 weeks ago i wanted her out. i dont know what to do. i have contacted my property management company and they told me I dont have to give her notice. I have been staying with a friend for the last 2-3 days cause I am now terrified of her, as she is 3 times my size. How do i get her out asap so i may return home? again she is no where on my contract.

Re: Help with roomate who threatned me

You can get a civil restraining order. Because of the threat to harm you, a temporary restraining order can be obtained without notice to her. You could also request an order for her to move out immediately.
