Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

i am from sacramento ca. my catalytic converter on my tundra has been stolen it was parked infront of our house. it cost me alot of money to replace it. i dont have a place to park my truck on my garrage to secure it, but the side entrance to the back yard has a space just enough where i can park my truck which obiously not a parking garrage. now my question is, Is there any law that prohibit me to park my truck on that spot. Thank you, and i want an answer so i can fix a gate where i can park and secure my truck.

This would probably be a matter covered (if at all) by local zoning and other land-use ordinances and you would have to check with Sacramento (City Hall) type sources to see whether the "side entrance to a back yard" is a lawful place for regular parking of a vehicle.
