You will probably need to file a lawsuit to determine the proper value of your property. The fact that your property will increase in value in the future is not an offset for the loss of your land. Call for a free consultation. (801) 876-4422.

I recommend that you do not delay in filing suit in Federal Court for the State's violation of the constitution prohibiting taking of property without compensation. Please call me directly at (619) 222-3504.

First, the property is in Imperial County, California. Second, this is an "eminent domain" or "condemnation" matter. These two facts must govern your choice of attorney.
CalTrans is VERY experienced in this kind of thing -- they do it all the time, and they have right-of-way agents and attorneys who are very knowledgeable and very well informed.
An average, run-of-the-mill real estate lawyer would be no match in terms of expertise. You absolutely have to get the most experienced eminent domain attorney in Imperial County, or perhaps even find someone in one of the more populous counties to the east, e.g. Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles or San Diego County.
I cannot take your case so I have nothing to gain or lose by advising you. My suggestion is to find a current copy of the Martindale-Hubbell law directory at a local library, look under El Centro, California, then read the listings for a firm that seems to have condemnation or eminent domain experience.
