Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Salon booth rental / commercial subletting

I gave my salon booth renters notice of rent increasing for the up coming month. They informed me that they would not pay the amount and stated I did not give them the 30 day notice. We are under no written contract and go month to month. I gave them notice on the 21 of the month. Can I legally give them a 1 day letter of eviction and lock them out on the 1st?

Cheers,

NN

This is a legitimate legal question this morning. You need to give them proper notice of rent increase, and cannot use a one day notice to start an unlawful detainer action.
