Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

San Bernardino California County just authorized the use of privately owned residences for �short-term rental� (i.e. commercial use).Does this by default convert the only road access �private� road to a �public� road requiring the county to be responsible for maintenance, snow removal, etc.?

No. Residential versus commercial has zero to do with whether a road is private or public. Depending on the terms of any ageeements, deeds, etc., between the private owners of the road, however, it may be an illegal use of the road if any of them start using their homes for short term rentals.
