Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Scope of practice for an out of state attorney

It is my understanding that attorneys OR real estate brokers are able to handle HUD loan modifications - if that's the case, this doesn't seem to be pure legal practice. Thus may an attorney bared in State A handle this type of transactional work in State B without being bared in State B? Where would you go to provide proof of the answer?

What? First, this really isn't a real estate question. Second, what do you mean by barred? If you mean that he has lost his license to practice in State A, I personally would NEVER consider using him or her for ANY WORK WHATSOEVER. This really is more of a question the attorney should be able to find the answer to him or herself and provide you with the citation to specific law. Perhaps that's why the attorney is "barred" from practice in State A?? I'd stear clear of anyone who has lost a professional license.
