Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Is it possible to seal an unlawful detainer action dismissed without prejudice over a year after the original detainer was filed? Landlord should have filed dismissal within a few days of filing, but never did. Says he thought he did. When trying to rent an apartment I discovered this filing was still open on my record. Landlord immediately dismissed, but this is still on my record. How can I get this sealed or removed?

You should (or an attorney should) be writing certified letters to the credit reporting agency attaching a copy of the court docket and demanding that the case be removed from their database, or else you will sue for defamation.
