Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Shared Fence

recently, due to high winds in the area the fence that I share with the neighbors behind me was blown down. I have attempted to contact them by leaving my contact information on their front door as well as mailing them a letter with no response. My house has a pool that is now exposed to thier back yard and I really want to get this fixed ASAP. How long do i have to wait for them to contact me before I take this matter in my own hands in an effort to prevent someone from thier house from falling into my otherwise completely gated pool and or how do i get them to pitch in on the cost of rebuilding the common boundry?

Re: Shared Fence

Mail them another letter- it is good to have a paper trail protect yourself, and perhaps try to put up a temporary fence to prevent damage to your pool. You may want to have a survey to determine whose property the fence is on. Get at least a few opinions before filing an encroachment suit. NB.
