Shutting off electric with baby in house?

My daughter got a 48 hr shut off notice from her electric co, is it legal for them to shut it off with a baby in the house? This supplies their heat.

Yes. You can contact the electric company and inquire about whether or not they have a program for indigent people and how to qualify, but one cannot insist upon using power for free.

Yes. That is why we have Child Protective Services. If the electricity is shut off, CPS will move the child to a home with electiricity.
