Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Sir/Miss:

For the past week, a neighbor of mine here in a Rancho Bernardo townhome community has acted in a threatening manner stating that I don't belong there and that he would kick my ass if he ever saw me again. So far, no such violent actions have occurred no matter his threats.

Back when he and I were on more friendly terms, he stated that he has some economic problems and therefore some stress issues. Recently, I inherited my Mother's town home after her passing and I am living there as I have for most of the past fifteen years. He has expressed some jealousy and anger over that; and in part because of that, he and I don't talk any longer.

I have talked to the Board of Directors President and our HOA; but, they don't want to get involved. Someone told me that I should contact the local police since it sounded to him more like a criminal matter.

Others have felt badly about this lack of involvement by our Board and HOA; and, have left our Rancho Bernardo town home community. I will not nor do I want to move. I am obeying the rules and feel very strongly that my walking around to get the mail or to get to the outside is not my doing anything wrong.

What would you do in my situation? Thank you.

Why not get a restraining order against him or sue him for intentional infliction of emotional distress and get an injunction to stop this? Contact me directly.
