Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

i sold a house 4 years ago. New owner recently contacted me to tell me there is a problem with the tile in all bathrooms (it is becoming loose from the wall.) I have absolutely no idea how or why this could be happening. Am I responsible?

Not based on what you are telling us. Sellers have a duty to disclose known defects that would be material to the sale. You may want to speak to an attorney to go into more detail, such as when the tile was installed, who installed it, and whether you were aware of any problems with the tile prior to the sale.
