Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My son was renting an apartment in nv and had a lease for 6 months that i co signed on. he was there for 3 years and never renewed the lease but paid a month to month rent. he found a new place and moved out leaving the keys with the custodian. they painted and cleaned the carpet and it came out to be $227. and he had a $200 deposit. the place was rented out after the cleaning and now they are saying he owes for the month he left was out. they are coming to me for the money. am i still liable since i cosigned a 6 month lease??? and is my son liable for the month he was out? the apartment was rented out 10 days after he moved out due to the painting and carpet cleaning. are you clear on the circumstances?? thanks bobby

If the apartment is in Nevada, this would have to be asked as a Nevada question so it will be referred by LawGuru to panelists who are licensed in Nevada and know its laws.
