Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
I started a lawsuit against my sister. I filed my complaint and now need to serve my sister with papers to get this started. My sister appears to have left the county. I cannot find her to have her served. As long as she is hiding there is nothing I can do until I serve her. I can't find any clues to where she moved to. What can I do?

You may be able to get an order from the court allowing you to publish the summons. You must prove to the court you have made serious, extensive efforts to locate the defendant, because publication is considered a last resort. For example, see http://www.saclaw.org/wp-content/uploads/sbs-publication-of-summons.pdf
