Stolen Property

I left a textbook behind one day in a class and when I went back right away to get it, I saw a girl take it and when I asked her about it she said it was hers. I have proof of purchase. Should I sue? If not, than what?

The question is not should I sue, but rather can I prevail if I do sue. How do you prove that she took your book?
