Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
SubLetting and Transfers
We are trying to get out of our current apartment, we were told that the complex does not allow subletting and that there is no transfers allowed. Aside from terminating the lease and paying the massive amounts of fees, what options do we have.... ????

Re: SubLetting and Transfers
It's hard to answer your inquiry because you haven't provided any details, such whether this is a lease or a month-to-month situation. Assuming it's a lease, what charges are you being assessed? What is the landlord's position on the re-rental of the same unit with respect to the balance of the lease term? These are some of the questions you should go over with an attorney before you pay anything.
