Being sued for property damage?
I have been given notice that legal action will be taken upon me for something I did not do. I have not been served at this time. A minor is requesting legal action against me for damages to his car I did not do. Please offer advice on how to handle this situation

I would write a short note to the lawyer or minor denying liability, and ask that he/she provide you with proof that you caused the damage.

Short of what Mr. Cohen suggested, all you can do is wait and deny the allegations if you're served with a lawsuit. Meantime, you should prepare all your defenses (contact witnesses, etc.) to be ready for a fight. Good luck.

The previous advice is good; I would add that defense of a suit is probably the responsibility of your insurance company, and at some point you should turn the matter over to them. Read your policy in this regard. Keep in mind that lots of people are sued every day for things that aren't their fault; nevertheless, when the summons and complaint are served on you, it's necessary to make an appropriate responsive pleading, or likely lose by default.
