Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Tenant rights

My mother and I have the same landlord. I got evicted out of my house. The landlord told my mother I could not come visit her or she would evict her out of her house. Is this legal?

Re: Tenant rights

Doesn't sound legal unless you are a known troublemaker or lawbreaker on a level that would entitle someone to get a restraining order against you. Landlords have very limited rights to screen or restrict their tenants' guests and an eviction based on who is visiting would be improper unless the guest were a known troublemaker. Not only may landlords not make retaliatory evictions, they cannot invade tenants' privacy by spying to see who their visitors are.
