i am a tenant in a triplex and was wondering if it was legal for my landlord to go in and out of our garage without notifying me or my wife? anything you can help with will be appreciated.

It depends on whether or not it is a shared garage or if it is part of your separate unit.

If you are the only one entitled to use the garage, then it would be considered to be the same as the rest of your living unit, so the landlord, except for emergencies, would have to give you at least a reasonable written notice [24 hours presumed reasonable].
