Can I terminate my lease agreement early

my company wants to transfer me to another location. I recently signed a 1 yr lease. can I get out of that agreement without penalty? If I cannot what sort of penalty am I looking at?

Being transferred in your employment does not permit you to get out of the lease agreement.

If you breach the lease and leave early, you are liable for either the rent through the end of the lease,

or the lost rent which the landlord would incur before re-renting after taking reasonable steps to re-let the

property, plus his costs of re-letting; the court should award whichever is less. There is a duty on the landlord to make a reasonable

attempt to re-let the property and mitigate his damage.
