Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Title Insurance claim response

Hi,

I submitted a claim to my title insurance company in late December of last year. The claim receipt was acknowledged shortly afterward. I have not received a meaningful response to the claim other than ''we're working on it'', ''your case is unusual''.

Is there a statutory limit on the time they have to reply?

Thanks,

Stan

Re: Title Insurance claim response

That statute of limitation on a claim against a title insurance policy is two years. See Code of Civil Procedure Section 339(1).
