Tree damage by neighbors

My next door neighbors decided to trim my 5 evergreen trees from the base up to about 6 feet. This was done all the way around the trees. The trees are on my property and they left half of the tree trimming debris on my property. They never approched us about anything and these are the type of evergreens that are thin, tall(about 40 to 60 feet), and shaped like a rocket. I am not sure what I should do? I tried to go and talk to my neighbor but they will not answer the door and I never see them outside.

Keep trying to work this out with your neighbor if you can. If you can't and the problem persists, you can get a court order preventing future events.
