unclaimed property
A relative left property at our house over a year ago and has not come back to claim it. To the best of our knowledge he is on the streets or possibly incarcerated. Can we dispose of the property?

As a general rule you would have to keep the property. If the relative was living in your home then he could be considered a tenant. You could then dispose of the property as provided by law.
