Unfriendly/Forced Annexation of Township by Neighboring city
Where can I go to or look for information on forced annexation of an unincorperated town. We are moving towards becoming a city and our neighboring city is trying to annex us and take our commercial property for the tax base. This will leave the homeowners out in the cold with nothing. We do not want this annexation and are fighting it desperately. We just found out that the city has filed for a ''Sphere of Influence''. They are suppose to do an ERI (Envinromental Impact Report) but they have not. Instead they are using a previous report they had done in 1998 or 1999 when they annexed a complete differant area (also unfriendly and forced). Can anyone help!!!!
