Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Unpaid Taxes on a Foreclosed Home (?)
Who is responsible for unpaid taxes on a home that is in foreclosure? If the house goes to auction and is sold - do the previous owners still owe the taxes or does the bank or the new owners?
I'm only referring to the unpaid taxes during the time the previous owners were in the home.
Thank you!

Taxes get paid first. So you probably will not owe any taxes after the foreclosure sale. You may owe a deficiency to the bank though.
