Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Vacating Property
I have lived in this unit three yrs. and it has floors that are buckling and cracking and the doors need replacing, the manager and the owner knows of the floors and the doors,i do not want to be stuck with the damage bill. I put a 400.00 security deposit when i moved in. The carpets needed to be replaced when i moved in and they have yet to be replaced. My walk thru states damaged but acceptable. Am i responsible for any of the repairs that they have not done since the apartment is falling apart?

Re: Vacating Property
you are not responsible for normal wear and tear and you are not responsible for any damage you did not cause.
