Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Vacation rental
After accepting full payment via credit card for a 4 day vacation rental of a single family home, the management association informed us that the owner no longer wished to rent out the home. We would get our money back, but there are no comparable homes in the area. Other homes, which wouldn't offer the same ammenities are higher priced. Does the owner or management company have any obligation to us?

Re: Vacation rental
Quite possibly, but it would depend on the terms of the contract. Additionally, it may not be worth filing suit for the difference (however, not knowing the price difference I can not really comment), but it is probably worth composing a letter to the management company demanding they pay the difference in the cost and see what kind of reaction you receive. They may accept or negotiate with you.
