Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Wage Garnishment after court judgement

received a judgement against my tenant for 2 months non pay rent. They have a good job and I have ssn#. How long/can we put a wage garnishment on her. If we can garnish, how long of a recovery time are we looking at? The total owed is 1950$.

Re: Wage Garnishment after court judgement

I believe maximum is 25% of wages, but there may be some other exemptions claimed. Judgment is good for 10 years in Calif, and can be renewed. Writ of Garnishment stays until you are paid or the employee no longer works there.

There are many methods, some more "clever" than others for collection of judgments. Wage garnishment is just one method. For Wage Garnishment, obtain a Writ, and fill out the Garnishment forms that you can obtain on the web.
