Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I have a written contract with a lady to rent her condo, she is a hoarder and the condo is in horrible condition. I cleaned the refrigerator because it had food in it from 1996, and there was magnet shit through out it. I was given the keys, etc. The landlord has refused to help with the clean-up at all including the dump runs. Now because I threatened legal action she is rescinding the contract and we have given notice to our current Landlord that we are moving. She states that she didn't like the way I threatened to have the health dept and an attorney to help me. I really need advice to know what step to take next.

It would require a lawyer to look at all the paperwork, including your threat of legal action, to figure out whether the contract can be rescinded, whether you could be evicted, or whether you would prevail. Sounds like the kind of mess that won't get resolved in time to assure you of a place to live, so maybe you should consider just letting this deal slip into history and finding a clean and ready-to-rent alternative. Didn't you look at the joint before you signed up? If you do drop the deal, get something in writing. If you don't, take the documents to a local real esate lawyer imediately.
