Legal Question in Securities Law in California

License to work in Private Equity

I have heard of a new opportunity in

Private Equity. My function would be

kind of like HR, where I would call

potential candidates and get them

excited about working for the firm.

These candidates, if hired, would

then be involved in raising capital for

the firm. Do I need a license to

engage in this type of work?

Re: License to work in Private Equity

You don't need a license per se, but all those people you recruit need to have a license. And, by the way, there is not to be any general solicitation with private equity. So, the company needs to be careful in how they use these new employees.
