Legal Question in Securities Law in California

Lien Illegally Placed on House

Hello,

A person placed a lien an filed it on my house, they used a previous notarized document to file the lean. I did not sign any papers regarding a lien that would have been put on the house.

What is my move?

Palmdale, CA.

Re: Lien Illegally Placed on House

Do you know who the "person" is? If the person's name is genuinely unfamiliar to you, I'd suspect fraud and file a report with the police.

More likely than not, you have some idea who the "person" is, and why he or she might have a claim against you, valid or invalid. Also, you don't say what kind of "previously notarized document" was used -- was it a deed of trust?

In order for an attorney to assist you usefully, you will have to specify the relationship between the lienholder and yourself, and the nature of the document.

Lawyers cannot give advice based on fuzzy and incomplete information.
