Legal Question in Securities Law in California
Rufuseful to return personal property valued at over fifteen hundred dollars
My mother gave me an antique oak dining table that I had in my home for over 13 years. I was relocating to another city and my mother offered to keep the table for me until I moved to my permanent residence (2-3months). My mother was killed in an auto accident and my 2 half-brothers and their friend went to her home after her death and removed many of her valuable belongings, as well as my table. The table and my mother's property was transported in the friend's vehicle to his residence. He has refused to return my property?Thank you for any advice.

You can sue in California Small Claims Court for up to $5,000 and specific performance (an order requiring the return of property).
