Legal Question in Securities Law in California

Son sentenced to California Youth Authority

As a juvenile, my son was sent by the court to a residential drug treatment program. While there he turned 18. Shortly after he ran away from the facility. He turned himself in to the court and was detained in county jail. Two weeks later the judge in the juvenile court sentenced him to the California youth authority, but said he had to go within 90 days or ''the state is off''. Its been over 90 days and he's still in county jail waiting. If what the judge said is true, how do we get him out of there?Who can we contact?

This is a criminal law question, not securities law, and if you re-ask it under that heading, you may get more (and better) answers. But as a business lawyer with some prior public-defender experience, I suggest going to the office of the public defender in the county where your son is held, and ask for a consultation with one of their attorneys. It's possible a writ of habeas corpus could be prepared and filed and would get him freed. If not, the process would at least answer a lot of your questions about the law in this area.
