Legal Question in Securities Law in California
In which state do I file a real estate lien?
I am not sure if ''securities'' is the correct area of the law, so if I am incorrect please forward to correct area.
My question is: I live in California & need to file a real estate lien in Florida. Where do I file, and what form do I use?

Re: In which state do I file a real estate lien?
It's the wrong heading; "securities law" as meant here has to do with stocks and bonds rather than security in the sense of collateral.
We can't forward questions, so you may want to re-ask it yourself. I would add that the lien probably must be filed in Florida, or more correctly must be recorded there, if it is to attach to Florida real property. Therefore, you also need to specify that Florida law will apply. It would also be helpful to answering attorneys if you specified the nature of the proposed lien, especially whether it results from a judgment, a security agreement or a mortgage.
Only a Florida lawyer with sufficient facts as to the nature of the security interest you claim can advise you with relative certainty as to how to record your lien and what preliminary steps, if any, must be taken.
