Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California
My boss has made sexual advances
My boss has been making sexual advances at me for about two years. If I confront him I will be fired, Immediately. I have made notes on what was said and the date it was said. I have also told the office manager about the boss making the advances, but he is afaid of losing his job. What can I do to stop him from making these advances towards me and any other woman that may ever work for him?

Sexual harrassment is a very serious tort. If you were unable to continue working there because of the hostile environment you would be entitled to lost wages, general damages (pain and suffering), and, worker's compensation benefits for the stress at work claim filed simultaneousely with the civil action. You must do something. All employers are required to have sexual harassment policies and make them available to employees. Follow it. Contact the Human Resource person for your company and tell them about your complaint. If you get fired, you have a case of wrongful termination/retaliation. If you do nothing, your credibility will be at issue, and the situation will continue. They will say it couldn't have been so bad. If you need further advise, call the Department of Fair Employment and Housing or schedule an appointment with an employment law attorney near you.
