What kind of credentials should a third party/external investigator of a workplace sexual harassment claim have? Should a case go to trial, what type of investigator has the most credibility?

Re: investigating a sexual harassment claim
Experience and a good reputation in the industry. Some investigators are lawyers but this is not essential. It helps to have knowledge of employment law, human resource practices, and good investigation skills. The ability to ask good questions, listen and not prejudge is important. In court, the ability to communicate clearly and simply is essential. Most experienced lawyers know who many of these investigators are.
