Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California
can a job be continued after harassment takes place
I have been cleaning houses for a while and yesterday I did a bid on a job to clean some walls. The man came to me and asked if he could be frank. So I said yes thinking it was for work. Then he proceeded to offer me money for sexual favors, at the same time grabbing his groin. When I refused, he grabbed my arm to pull me closer and I pulled away. I told him I didn't do that and continued to discuss the cleaning of the walls. He then asked about my friends and said there was $50 in it for her or $100 if I agreed to be the one to take care of his needs. I again said NO. He made comments about my ''ass'' and body. I tried to keep the talk about work and gave him my bid. My question is, feeling so uncomfortable, but needing the money, can I go and do the job if I decide to sue?

Re: can a job be continued after harassment takes place
I would immediately report what happened to the police department in the city in which it occurred. This is a crime and they should know about it. These cases are very difficult to prove when it is your word against his but they may be able to assist you with acquiring evidence to use against him. It is possible there may be other victims, as well.
Under no circumstances would I suggest you return to this man's house without the assistance of the police. No matter how much you need the money, nothing is worth the price you may pay if he becomes more aggressive next time.
