Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California
Offensive remarks by owners of the company
I have had offensive remarks told to me by both owners of the company, (opposite sex), about my tops, the way my hips move when I walk and many other things that made me feel uncomfortable, almost on a daily basis. Another problem that I was offended by was that they would constantly make racial and violent remarks about the people that worked for him. My now husband also worked in the same office and experianced the racial and violent remarks that were made by both owners. He confronted the owner about this and ended up getting cussed out by them. We were too scared of losing our jobs to do or say anything since both owners were involved. We do not work there any more due to this behavior. I did not document the times or days and alot of times this would happen when they were in the privacy of my office. Is it possible to file a suit against them?

It sounds as if you may have valid claims for discrimination and harassment based on sex and/or race. You may have other claims as well. In order to fully analyze your potential claims, I would need to speak to you in order to get a complete set of facts. We handle many employment claims. Feel free to contact me to discuss your potential claims.

A lawyer will determine whether the case is viable if your (or your husband's) departure was within the past year. More information is required.
