Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

sexual harassment on the job

while i was on the job i was asked to describe a womans body for no good reason, then when i didnt do it i was asked if i was gay. these questions had nothing to do with my oringinal request for a officer to meet two people at the garage to get their car out.

Do i have a case of sexual harassment.

I assume you are a male. It sounds as if you were the butt of a joke. Unfair, ugly joke, but is it actionable?

From a practical point of view, it would not be worth it. Then you'd become the butt of private silent jokes, the type the company would not be able to do anything about.

Suggestion: let it go for now. If it continues, then think about giving your company notice about it. If you complain now or later, your life at work will change. It's not supposed to -- legally speaking -- but the reality is that it will.

It might stop if you do not react. Think of kids in the schoolyard, they'd tease those who react. It was no fun to tease someone who ignored them.
