Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

University professor and harassment

I'm just completing my degree at a very prestigious university and have been subjected to what I feel is sexual and non-sexual harassment. For a period of time one of my professors had been addressing myself and others as BM and T&A via email. Due to the aforementioned �titles� and other incidences I had complained to the dept. chair in confidence. He had told me that I was just causing problems and to immediately stop talking about it, after he told me that he had called the professor and told him that I had been complaining about him. The T&A and BM acronyms stopped other types of harassment continued. I repeated told my academic advisors that I felt that the professor would seek retribution and they continually stated that he would never do such a thing. Finally, on the thesis project, my thesis partner (who never complained) received and A and I received a D. I feel that this is retribution for having complained about him�� Do I have any type legal course of action available to me at this point?? Four other students in our 16 person cohort program are also wanting to file some type of legal suit for harassment as well..
