Re: Child molesting

Hello.

In California "Dating" is not a crime. Having sexual relations and or sexual contact with a minor is definately a crime. A minor (Under age 18) is legally incapable of "consenting" to unlawful sexual relations with an adult. this applies to both sexes.

As far as "reporting" THE CRIME, first you re not an actual witness, just a hearsay repeater of what the minor may have told you. The minor needs to be prepared to go forward IN ADDITION to you as a parent assisting the minor.

Once the process is started (with reporting to the local law enforcement) the process wil have a life of its own and cannot nor wil be stopped. The offender will be arrested, bail will have to be posted and if there is a conviction, the offender will be on a lifetime sex offender list.

A lot is at stake so be sure of your actions as a lot of lives are affected. That is not to say play this emotionally or be anything other than sure in your convictions, do the right thing at all times.

Respectfuly,
