Legal Question in Tax Law in California

If I claim an inmate on my taxes would I somehow become responsible for any of his debt owed or restitution? We are not married now, but hope to be once he's released.

How would you claim an inmate? Obviously you are not supporting him, the state is. You need to develop the facts more thoroughly.
