Claiming wife & child

My wife filed for divorce in June of 2006. She moved out with our 10 year old child. I gave her $3000.00 a every month since she left. Can I claim my Wife and Child on my 2006 income taxes? the divorce did not become final until 2/2007.

Consult an accountant on this one, but most likely: Yes. Especially if your wife and child relied on this money as their primary source of income.
