non-profit tax id or license
Hello! I would like to know where I can obtain an application for a non-profit agency to apply for a 501 C-3 tax id. Please e-mail me about this subject. Thank You! Oh, I live in Stockton, CA

The federal form is IRS Form 1023. You can get it on the IRS website, which is www.irs.gov. The state form is FTB 3500, which can be found at the Franchise Tax Board website at www.ftb.ca.gov. The state form basically piggybacks off the IRS form. The IRS form is complicated. If you make an error, you may have a difficult time getting your exemption, so if you have a question, talk to a tax lawyer.
