Legal Question in Tax Law in California
Getting paid under the table
Recently worked under the table for a family member and now that family member is being charged with , working with no contractor licence , grand theft larceny (because job was over 400.00) and elder abuse ( not physical ). What can happem to me for working under the table and not paying tax's on the money made (approx 5000.00). I am sure to have to go to court and this more than likely will come up.

you should consult with a knowledgeable and experienced tax attorney. there are federal and California penalties for tax fraud (both civil and criminal), in addition to other penalties and interest that may be owed.

You may wish to ammend your tax return and report the income.
